A NEW MARQUEE

Deaf West Theatre's new marquee shines on
Lankershim Blvd.
The Community
Redevelopment Agency (CRA) of North Hollywood
granted Deaf West Theatre (DWT) a theatre
marquee! Our renovated facade is consistent
with the existing art deco architectural
design elements of the building. DWT's enhanced
physical appearance represents our growing
influence and individuality in North Hollywood
and beyond. Deaf West Theatre wishes to
acknowledge and thank the CRA for its support
in providing us this beautiful marquee,
making the exterior as unique as the work
that occurs within it.

S. MARK TAPER FOUNDATION
PLAYHOUSE
In 2000,
Deaf West Theatre (DWT) received a generous
grant from the S. Mark Taper Foundation
to help fund the renovation of DWT’s
approximately 2,500 square foot facility.
In addition to renovations and improvements
made to the theatre itself, DWT was also
able to renovate and occupy the 5114 Lankershim
Boulevard property, creating an office space,
green room, rehearsal room, dressing rooms
and storage directly next door to the resident
theatre. In gratitude, the renovated theatre
space has been named the S. Mark Taper Foundation
Playhouse. Thank you to Executive Director,
Ray Reisler, and everyone at the S. Mark
Taper Foundation for helping DWT improve
its artistic environment and create a new
home.
