The mission of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission is to foster excellence, diversity, vitality and accessibility of the arts in the County of Los Angeles . The Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs awards grants for services related to the production, creation, presentation, exhibition and managerial support of artistic cultural services within the City of Los Angeles. The Grant Programs support projects in design, dance, media, music, literary arts, photography, services to artists, theatre, traditional/folk art, visual arts, and projects that are interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary among these categories. www.culturela.org

MetLife Foundation was established in 1976 by MetLife for the purpose of supporting educational, health and civic and cultural organizations.  Our goals are to strengthen communities, promote good health and improve education. The Shubert Foundation is dedicated to sustaining and advancing the live performing arts in the United States, with a particular emphasis on theatre. Theatre Communications Group, the national organization for the American theatre, offers a wide array of services in line with their mission: to strengthen, nurture and promote the professional not-for-profit American theatre. VSA arts and MetLife Foundation have worked together for eight years to increase access to the arts for people with disabilities. The “Arts Connect All” initiative, in its second year, was created to recognize best practices and encourage arts organizations throughout the country to partner with public schools to develop integrated educational programs for development of students’ social, cognitive, and artistic skills through arts learning. www.vsarts.org
The Weingart Foundation has focused its grant making on programs that address the needs of the under-served and the general community. For over 30 years, the Foundation authorized grants of almost $500 million to support a variety of Southern California social services, educational, and community programs.
