Catch
the last show - November 19th only!
We are pleased to announce
that Deaf West Theatre returns with
"For
the Love of Ducks" -
a special Children's Theatre production
this November. See the show for one
last performance on November
19th at GLAD's Community
Day. Click
here for more information.
The
production returns this year with
new actors and improv stories presented
in American Sign Language and spoken
English. The show gives students the
rare opportunity to see live theater
and presents themes about how it is
ok to be different. Deaf West Theatre's
educational outreach program seeks
to expose students to the professional
arts, sign language and learn a little
bit about Deaf culture as well as
present positive deaf role models.
And have a little fun too! We will
provide each teacher with a short
study guide to use in conjunction
with the performance.
Hey
DHH Teachers!
Deaf
West Theatre is currently assisting
schools in the Los Angeles area to
ensure educational components are
available during the production of
"For the Love of Ducks."
The
educational support materials are
available to schools and students
who may be interested in attending
the play. This document is a pdf e-version
of the study guide including American
Sign Language alphabet, pre and post
performance activities and exploration
of the play's positive messages.
