DEAF WEST THEATRE ANNOUNCES
NEW ACTOR TRAINING WORKSHOP SERIES
FOR SPRING 2009
APRIL 23 – JUNE 25, 2009
The award-winning Deaf West Theatre is hosting a new series of acting workshops this Spring. This ten-week workshop program, specifically for upcoming, early-career deaf and hard of hearing actors, runs Thursday evenings April 24 – June 25 at its North Hollywood theater at 5112 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood, CA.
This unique acting program will focus on scene work from great material moderated by professional directors and actors. The classes will also include acting technique, scene study, improvisation as well as preparedness for the marketplace. The program will culminate in a showcase in front of selected industry guests.
Up to fifteen students from will be selected by an independent screening committee to participate in this spring’s acting series.

- Submit a DVD or online video (example - http://www.cazt.com): Maximum 5 minutes. State your name, what 2 pieces you will be performing. Contrasting pieces recommended.
The 10-week workshop program runs April 24 – June 25 at Deaf West Theatre on Thursday evenings 7-10pm. You must be 18 years or older to apply and be in your early career as a deaf or hard of hearing actor. There is no cost for this program.
We are now accepting applications. Deadline for submission is April 3, 2009.
